Tapestry Woven Pod Workshop

Sat 23rd November 2019 10am - 4pm

Location: Forest Row, Sussex. UK

This course introduces weavers to 3D weaving. During the day we will weave a 'pod', a spherical structure based on a 'net'. This net leaves areas unwoven so when the tapestry is cut off the frame the warps can be pulled to make concave bowls or pods. There will also be a discussion on the use of different materials to produce different results - ie: softer organic pods or harder boxlike structures. Once students understand the process to make this basic shape they have all the knowledge to move onto more complicated convex and concave designs.

You will be working on a ready warped tapestry frame - or you can bring your own, and will have access to the full range of weaversbazaar yarns to weave with. Refreshments will be provided but bring your own lunch. The workshop will be delivered at a studio location from 10 am - 4 pm.

Full joining instructions, including details of the actual location, will be sent once a booking has been made. Places are limited to 6 participants only.

Terms & Conditions: The full fee is required in advance to secure a place.  A full refund will be made if a booking is cancelled up to 7 days before the workshop starts. No refund will be made if a booking is cancelled within 7 days of the start of the Workshop and we are unable to resell the place.
